A small, intimate island in the South Ari Atoll, Vakarufalhi – affectionately known as Vakaru – is blessed with gorgeous beaches, a stunning turquoise lagoon for swimming and a superb house reef that encircles the entire island. A perfect combination of rustic simplicity and understated luxury, four-star Vakaru is a wonderful island escape from the hurly-burly.
The restaurant offers a wide-ranging buffet but has particularly good Italian and Mediterranean-style dishes, with pasta and pizza stations and incredible desserts. Open-sided, with a thatched roof and views over the beach and ocean, it's just a short stroll across to the laid-back, sand-floor bar.
Scattered along the beach with views of the lagoon, they are individually offset to provide privacy amidst lush greenery. All rooms feature a private verandah with day bed and chairs, wooden floors, air‐conditioning, ceiling fan, sitting area, 42” plasma TV, digital safe box, stocked mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, espresso machine, IDD, hair dryer, a semi open‐air bathroom with garden, shower cubicle and open air shower. Special Dinners: You can organise romantic candle-lit dinners on the verandah of your bungalow or on the beach. This service is subject to an extra charge
Encircles the island so it's possible to snorkel or dive all around. Close to shore on one side of the island, the lagoon is wider on the other side with a jetty leading to the reef edge to save you a long swim! Natural-looking coral seawalls protect the lagoon and keep the sand from shifting around the island. Good fish life with reef sharks commonly seen

There are a number of interconnecting villas for families, though there are no particular children's facilities or organised activities. It's all about the sand and the crystal clear sea at Vakaru!
